124ft BREAUX BAY CRAFT 1979/2022

Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

Bidding Closed

Ariadne was constructed by the renowned Breaux Bay Craft shipyard in Louisiana in 1979/1980. The motor yacht completed an extensive refit at the highly-reputable Derecktor Shipyard in Dania Beach, FL., and Lauderdale Marine Center between 2018 – 2022, and offers a truly remarkable buying opportunity. The multi-million dollar refit included nearly a total rebuild of the entire vessel structurally, mechanically, and aesthetically.

Repainted flag blue at Derecktor Shipyard with crimson and gold boot stripes and her fresh cream superstructure, Ariadne is a true gentleman’s and family yacht, now in the style of the classic transatlantic ocean liners. She exudes rare elegance with extraordinary quality and attention to detail while being constructed with commercially thick and solid 19mm hull plating. Her shallow draft makes her a perfect yacht for cruising locations such as the Bahamas and beyond.

Ariadne has new all-teak decks and the brightwork was stripped and reapplied with 10 coats. The vessel boasts three separate exterior deck areas, including a spacious sundeck that was expanded far beyond her original size. The unique three-level European-style aft-deck beach club, with distinct dining, lounging, and a water-side area can comfortably hold parties of 50 on the sundeck and accommodate 10 for dining at water level with additional space for lounging and watersports. All exterior furniture onboard Ariadne is teak with brass fittings, with furnishings designed to match the vessel’s interior.

The interior of Ariadne is adorned with floors, fixtures, and sconces crafted from marble, crystal, gold, and brass, and custom artworks. Every inch has received detailed attention with rich interiors providing a refined and luxurious ambiance from the original cherry and burled maple paneling to beautifully handcrafted stonework to the finest details down to the luxurious day head, which boasts eglomise glass wall panels, custom scalloped art deco glass mosaic floor, and gold-washed fixtures. Just magnificent!

Ariadne accommodates 8 guests in 4 staterooms which include a full-beam master king stateroom with lounging, a main deck VIP queen that is convertible to a private study with desk, a large queen cabin, and a large convertible twin/king. Ariadne offers luxurious space, style, and comfort for every guest. Each cabin features fine bedding and linens and its own large color-coordinated ensuite baths boast nickel and crystal fittings, slab stone, and individual custom mosaics. There are 3 crew cabins; Captain’s cabin with queen, a cabin with bunks and the forward stateroom with three bunks plus a head and shower.

Ariadne is equipped with four 2016 John Deere 650hp engines, which provide a fuel-efficient means to utilize required horsepower. Four engines are a traditional approach to commercial shipbuilding as they provide reliability and redundancy, with lower overall costs and fuel consumption compared to larger twin-engine installations. Ariadne’s fuel consumption is just 65 gallons per hour while cruising at 13 knots, with all four engines running plus both generators. With a fuel capacity of 8,800 gallons, her range is approximately 1,900 nautical miles. Ariadne has new stern tubes, shafts, bearings, and reconditioned props, the engines were top-end rebuilt in 2022, and her two Cummins generators have also been completely rebuilt. A Sea Recovery 60 gallon per hour watermaker was added as well as a UV water filtration system.

Excluded from the sale are the crystal faucets at the day head sink and master sinks, China set, items of silver and crystal (including obelisk, RL lanterns), ocean liner collection items, certain artwork, clocks (salon, lower-deck hall, and master), small items on shelves in VIP, blue, and green cabins, and bamboo master sheet set.
