80ft SWAN 1981/1995

Portsmouth, Rhode Island

Bidding Closed

Melinka is a Swan 76 with a hull and deck refit extension making her 80 feet LOA. Built by reputable Finnish builder Nautor Swan, this exceptional yacht expertly blends stately elegance and luxurious comfort with everything you need for life at sea. She was purchased by the present family in 1994. The family appreciated the Swan 76 so much that they bought a second one to keep in the southern hemisphere! Featuring three ensuite guest staterooms, private crew quarters, and recent upgrades, Melinka promises the perfect platform for extended cruising, wherever that may take you.

A truly rare find on today’s market, the Swan 76 Melinka sailing yacht is in spectacular condition, having been meticulously maintained to exacting standards by her present captain, who has been with the boat since 2006. In 1995, Melinka underwent an extensive refit at the renowned Hinckley Shipyard – the largest shipyard in Rhode Island – including extending the hull and deck to 80’; replacing the teak decking and Lewmar winches; and adding air conditioning, a watermaker and burgundy leather upholstery. More recent upgrades include new North working sails in 2021 and all new communication and navigation electronics in 2023.

Below deck, the warm and elegant main salon invites respite after a day on the ocean, with a sumptuous burgundy leather U-shaped settee as well as a convertible dining table with two folding leaves to accommodate a full dinner service. An additional L-shaped burgundy leather settee to starboard, complete with a coffee table, is ideal for after-dinner games, lively conversation or partaking in a family movie night. Melinka’s interior features beautifully varnished and hand-rubbed Burmese teak throughout with a teak and holly sole.

A thoughtfully placed navigation station is located two steps down from the main salon and offers a desk with navigation and communications electronics. Aft of the main salon are three spacious and comfortable guest accommodations with ensuite heads, comprising the private owner’s cabin fully aft and two guest staterooms to port and starboard – a fantastic and flexible setup that will suit a variety of guest configurations.

The galley and crew quarters are housed forward of the main salon, offering full privacy between owners, guests and crew. Located portside, the galley is well-equipped and offers plentiful storage, while the U-shaped layout provides functionality while underway. Opposite the galley, the captain’s cabin includes a double pullman bunk and ensuite head, while further forward the crew mess encompasses a dinette, work area, storage and washer/dryer. Fully forward are two mirror-image bunk cabins, one each to port and starboard, with a shared head aft of the crew dinette.
