The 40.7m (133.5ft) ketch sailing yacht SURAMA is a stunning example of Royal Huisman’s world-renowned shipbuilding pedigree. She has been meticulously maintained and upgraded since she was first delivered in 1997, including a full refit at Royal Huisman in 2017. SURAMA was conceived as a world cruiser capable of self-sufficient, unsupported voyages to the most remote corners of the planet, while her lightweight Lloyd’s-classed aluminum hull delivers rewarding performance in regattas.

No expense has been spared on SURAMA’s maintenance. A regular refit program has ensured a full service, rebuild or replacement of almost every system and mechanical item as needed. Since her major 2017 refit, SURAMA has also undergone extensive winter maintenance in 2018 and 2019.

Combining Ted Hood naval architecture, Fontaine exterior design and 217GT of Winch Design interiors, this Royal Huisman for sale features impeccable credentials. Her lifting centerboard keel reduces draft from 6.8m (22.3ft) while sailing to 2.9m (9.4ft). This allows access to shallow draft destinations that other yachts cannot reach.

SURAMA’s relaxing, modern interior maximises natural light, with the deckhouse lounge’s wraparound windows and skylights allowing light to pour into the informal dining area. Steps lead down to the main saloon which has a large, semi-circular seating area and TV to port and an informal dining area to starboard.

The aft cockpit is a versatile space that can be used for al fresco dining, or the table can be collapsed to form a sheltered sunpad platform. Further outdoor seating and dining options are provided between the dual helm stations and the flybridge, sheltered from the sun by a wide bimini. A central section of the aft deck folds down to create a swim platform for easy access to the water.

Accommodation is available for up to eight guests across three luxurious cabins, all opening out to a central lobby. The split-level owner’s suite is positioned aft and includes a curved sofa on the starboard side and steps leading up to the en suite bathroom to port and private cockpit access. Amidships two mirror image twin cabins, each with a pullman berth and en suite bathroom, lie to port and starboard.

When not sailing, SURAMA is powered by two Mercedes 570hp engines, allowing her to cruise at 11 knots with a maximum range of 4,305nm.
